SML Meditree, a company specializing in clinical trial sample analysis, is embarking on a new phase of growth following U2Bio’s strategic investment. The company has reorganized its management structure, appointed Hyuk-sung Jin as its new CEO, and changed its corporate name to U2XLab, marking a new beginning.
Building on the experience and achievements accumulated through its clinical trial analysis business, U2XLab has identified four key strategic priorities: △expanding its business scope (Extend), △enhancing its expertise (Excellence), △innovating the user experience (Experience), and △serving as a hub that connects diverse stakeholders across the CRO industry (Cross).
Newly appointed CEO Hyuk-sung Jin previously served as Head of the Strategic Business Division at U2Bio, where he led group-wide business expansion and the development of new business opportunities. He also has extensive experience across the healthcare industry, having previously overseen pharmaceutical and data businesses at UBcare.
U2XLab officially announced the appointment of Hyuk-sung Jin as CEO on January 16 and unveiled its mid- to long-term growth strategy and new vision based on the existing business capabilities of SML Meditree. The company explained that the change in corporate name and appointment of a new CEO represent a strategic transformation aimed at clearly defining its business identity and future growth direction, rather than simply an organizational restructuring.
With the appointment of CEO Hyuk-sung Jin, U2XLab plans to accelerate strategic business integration across the U2Bio Group and expand its presence in global markets.
U2XLab also plans to establish a corporate operating system based on transparent decision-making processes and predictable revenue models, with the goal of building a sustainable foundation for growth and pursuing a stock market listing within the next five years. The company emphasized that this goal will be achieved as a collective effort and shared accomplishment among all employees who share the same vision and direction.
U2XLab’s core business is clinical trial sample analysis services based on a Central Lab. Going forward, the company plans to further expand collaboration with U2Bio and its affiliates to advance analytical technologies, develop eClinical solutions, expand data-driven services, and strengthen its capabilities in supporting global clinical trials.
