Strengthening Clinical Analysis Capabilities and Targeting the Korean Market with Protein Microarray Platform Services

SML Meditree (CEO Dong-soo Lee), an institution specializing in clinical trial sample analysis, announced that it recently signed a business agreement with Medirama (CEO Han-lim Moon), a company specializing in clinical development.

The agreement focuses on combining the expertise and capabilities of both companies to provide comprehensive support from the early stages of new drug development through clinical trial sample analysis, with the aim of improving clinical trial success rates and accelerating the drug development process.

Dong-soo Lee, CEO of SML Meditree, said, “We expect our collaboration with Medirama to create new synergies in the field of clinical trial sample analysis. By leveraging the specialized technologies and extensive experience of both companies, we aim to improve the accuracy and reliability of clinical trials and ultimately contribute to providing patients with better treatment options.”

He added, “In particular, our collaboration involving the protein microarray technology recently introduced from Sengenics in the United States is highly significant for cancer and autoimmune disease research. This technology will further expand the potential for discovering new biomarkers and advancing personalized medicine.”

Han-lim Moon, CEO of Medirama, also stated, “Central laboratories play a critical role in clinical development by generating data to assess the efficacy and safety of investigational products. We expect our collaboration with SML Meditree, which participates in clinical development based on extensive experience and state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, to contribute to encouraging outcomes in new drug development.”

This business agreement represents a strategic partnership between the two companies aimed at achieving optimal outcomes throughout the clinical trial process. The partnership will encompass a broad range of collaborative initiatives, from early-stage clinical trial consulting to the expansion of clinical trial sample analysis services in Korea and overseas.

Following the agreement, SML Meditree plans to launch promotional activities for Sengenics' i-Ome Discovery platform. The company expects these efforts to address growing demand in the Korean market in line with the current research trend toward the rapidly increasing use of autoantibodies, while also creating new momentum in the domestic biomarker market.
