SML Meditree (CEO Dong-soo Lee) announced that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with PT Equilab International (Equilab), an Indonesian contract research organization (CRO), on the 18th.

The agreement was established to progressively strengthen collaboration in clinical trial sample analysis and the companies’ capabilities in responding to sponsors for multinational clinical trials by connecting their respective analytical capabilities and regional networks. In particular, the agreement marks an important first step toward establishing an international clinical collaboration framework linking clinical trials in the ASEAN region with global analytical hubs, including Korea.

SML Meditree has extensive experience conducting global clinical trial projects through long-term collaborations with Central Labs and CROs in major countries including Japan, the United States, and Australia. Through these international collaborations, the company has accumulated quality systems and operational expertise that meet global standards, with particular strengths in sample analysis and communication for clinical trials conducted overseas.

Equilab is Indonesia’s first and largest CRO, providing clinical trial and central laboratory analysis services that meet international standards. With more than 22 years of experience and over 1,500 studies conducted, Equilab has established broad collaborations with global pharmaceutical companies and research institutions across pharmacokinetics, dermatology, and clinical research. This agreement with SML Meditree represents the first step toward connecting the analytical capabilities and regional infrastructure of both companies, with the goal of establishing a support framework for multinational clinical trials.
